Your Story Isn't Over Yet

I saw this sign today.

I pay attention to signs.

When in doubt, just ask for a sign.

Like I do.

Ask for a sign, then pay attention!

Signs are all around us. We can trip over them, drive past them and ignore them when we are shopping.

Today I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this one. The sign in the thrift store said, "My Story Isn't Over Yet:"

That's it. That was the sign I needed.

A long time ago a good friend told me when you are at a crossroads, to always take the path that will make the better story. I have been at a crossroads lately. The crossroads has just two options right now. One looks like the safer, more conservative path and I thought it made the most sense, considering how many years old I am now!

The other path, is me rising up from the proverbial ashes once again, and attempting to get back out there, as the underdog, the worn out spiritual teacher, and share my stories once again.

Seems the older we get, the more afraid we are to fall down, again. We fear maybe next time we won't get up. We choose to relive the old stories, instead of creating new ones.

I used to make those scary leaps with resilience. With fortitude and courage. Now, I'm tired and worn out and not so sure how high I can jump. I thought I had enough stories for one lifetime.

Then I saw the sign, and knew, there is more to my story.

The story matters. The continuation of the story matters. And this path, the path of the spiritual teacher, the coach and counselor, is my story.

I guess my story isn't over yet. The sign said so.

How about you? Which direction do you need to take right now? Which direction will make the better story?

And what do you want the story of your life to be anyway?

Take that path now. Live your story.

In love and uncertainty of the path before us...
